  • Dr.
    Jennifer Ulm
    Owner/Veterinarian

Dr. Jennifer Ulm grew up in Yates City and attended school here in Farmington. She attended Blackburn College in Carlinville and graduated with a BS in Biology. She then went on to the University of Illinois for veterinary school. After graduating in 2001, she and her husband Matt returned to Farmington. She worked locally for other practices before deciding to start her own business. Dr. Jennifer started a veterinary housecall business in February of 2010. She loves visiting pets and their owners in their homes, but seeing a need to offer more services, took the next step and opened her first stationary clinic in March 2012. In May of 2019, she completed her new clinic building that we are currently using. Dr. Jennifer is excited to be able to have improved surgery and hospitalization capabilities.

Dr Jennifer and her husband, Matt, live in Farmington with their daughter, Phoebe, and son, Dax.  They share their home with a Standard Dachshund, Oliver; a German Shephard, Delilah; and one cat, Bootsie. In July of 2023, she will be picking up a new puppy, Betty, to be raised as a Future Leader Dog for the Blind.

  • Sebastian The Clinic Cat

Sebastian was found with his mother and littermates under Dr Ulm's father-in-law's home in April 2012. Since then, Sebastian was taken in by Dr Ulm's family, lived at the old clinic building for a while (until he got too sassy with clients), lived at Dr Ulm's home for several years (until he expressed his dislike for Dr Ulm's dogs), and has lived at the current Ulm Veterinary Clinic since March 2020. Sebastian enjoyed his COVID-19 pandemic having free range of the clinic, but has settled into his role as a behind the scenes clinic cat since reopening the clinic to the public. Sebastian enjoys laying in boxes, playing with feather toys and cat nip mice, licking yogurt containers and occasionally biting the hands of the clinic staff.
